-GREYHOUND print by R.H. Palenske:    Black & white classic head study of the famous “Trotter of the century”, winner of the 1935 Hambletonian, set a World’s Record for Three year old Trotting gelding. When hitched as a pair with Hambetonian winner Rosalind (subject of a beloved Marguerite Henry book, Born To Trot) they set a speed record lasting over 33 years.  Greyhound was so popular he had a barn with his own clubhouse, picture window, and guestbook.   This very collectible vintage print has averaged $730 at Harness Tracks of America’s annual art auctions, and remains an important component of any harness racing collection. It has great appeal for Saddlebred lovers as well, Since Mrs. Frances Van Lennep of renowned Dodge Stables & Castleton Farm rode him to the trotting under saddle mark of 2:01 in 1940. This record stood until 2000 when jockey Julie Krone climbed aboard Moni Maker at Lexington’s Red Mile racetrack.
