22″ x 29″ print, signed, numbered, ltd. edition print. This is a very accurate depiction of two time Horse of the Year Albatross, with Stanley Dancer at the Red Mile. Albatross won 25 of 28 starts, and later sired two time Horse of the Year, Niatross, who is the sire of Nihilator. Extremely rare print-few were ever in circulation. This print has averaged $1575 the two times it has appeared in HTA auctions. $925

When hitched as a pair with Hambetonian winner Rosalind (subject of a beloved Marguerite Henry book, Born To Trot) they set a speed record lasting over 33 years. The Lexington Junior League Horse Show, held on the historic Red Mile racetrack, is the first of the American Saddlebred’s Triple Crown shows. The Junior League posters with realistic artwork often sell out during the show & have become very collectible. I believe this dynamic gaited horse art depicts Terri Chancellor on The Phoenix, & the other rider may be Mary Gaylord (email me if you have more correct info!)
